August Twelfth ~ God's Daily Minute

Psalm 32:8 | Decisions determine destiny, Christian wallpaper ...

August Twelfth ~ God's Daily Minute

“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go.” – Ps. 32:8 ~

We praise Thy name, our Father, that Thou hast again brought us to the sweet consciousness of life and to realization of Thy divine grace and loving favor. We are grateful to Thee for all the mercies so abundantly bestowed upon us through Thy Son. Grant unto us this day Thy watch-care and guidance, that we may in nothing offend Thee or bring reproach upon Thy name.

May we, by the inspiration of Thy Holy Spirit, be led into that truth which will enable us to glorify Thee in our lives. Keep our minds from error and our hearts from sin. May all our thoughts be true, our loves be pure, and our actions right before Thee. Give unto us and ours the things necessary for our temporal comfort and or spiritual good. Bless Thou the toil of our hands and make it abound to the welfare of our fellow-men and to Thine own glory. Help us to be ever conscious of the presence and fellowship of Thy dear Son, our Saviour and our Friend.

Comfort, we pray Thee, those who are in sorrow. Strengthen those who are weak. Be Thou beside the beds of suffering, to ease pain, strengthen courage and inspire hope. We ask all in the name of Him Who dwelleth in our hearts through faith.  Amen

COVID-19 A Transformation

COVID-19 A Transformation

By Naheed Haq

In this period of turmoil when the world is facing the pandemic of covid19, life seems to be in topsy-turvy. Panic, terror, uncertainty, and despair are the biggest monsters hovering above the heads of everyone, trying to strangle the life out of them.

However, despite the horrific presence of these demons there appears to be a ray of hope among the people and that shaft of light illuminates itself in the form of a positive attitude adopted by all of us.

Ever since the breakout of this Corona virus, a complete transformation is evident in the behavior and demeanor of most of us. We have become altruistic, empathetic, patient and humble. A transformation, for which motivational speakers, religious leaders, social activists, and reformers preached for several years, Corona taught them in a month. Is it a Reality to mourn or celebrate?

This is the moment to ponder upon. Being a civilized nation, we are required to behave towards others most positively and decently as expected but unfortunately, we never realized that. In the "pre- corona scenario", every one of us was living in a shell of their ego and arrogance. We were part of a race leading towards materialistic gains. In this race, we forgot to nourish our spiritual energies. The energies that boost our mind and soul, thus enriching them in the most desirable manner.

We became indifferent to the agony and suffering of others. We carried only one motto in life and that was "My Happiness", even if we have to achieve it at the cost of destroying others' happiness and delight. Instead of "Human Beings", we transformed ourselves into "Mean Beings". And that is when our miseries started.

Nature has its way of addressing things. It loves us the most and couldn't see us creatures suffering. We suffered long before the breakout of this pandemic Corona, suffering in the form of turning into "Mean Beings" rather than "Human Beings". Nature has to heal us through its healing hand. We needed to be healed spiritually and morally.

To make things come back to normal, to make us free from the chains of arrogance and pride, the healing hand of Nature overcast the Universe with the clouds of COVID-19. This is how the purification of our mind and body commemorates.

The process of healing is in progress in " during the COVID-19 period", resulting in a positive change in the attitude and behavior of most of us. The long-forgotten values of helping and caring for others have retrieved. All of us are desperate to play our role in supporting others. The materialistic race has come to a halt. People are contented with and are being grateful for what they have. The power of humanity has taken over again demolishing the castles of pride and greed.

Do the questions arise, we need pandemics to modify spiritually? Can't we remain steadfast without dropping our human qualities? Nature has bestowed its treasures of mercy on us so why not be merciful to His creatures as well. Let's take the pledge to make our lives aligned with the ways of Nature and refrain from plunging into the ocean of superficial life where the waves of spiritual and moral disaster engulf us easily. I wish we stick to this phase of positivity and transformation in the "post-COVID-19 phase" as well.

Hexagram 53

I.The Oracle

A. Hexagram fifty-three parallels that of self-development, or just plain old developmental change.  The situation is named Jian or infiltrating. Additional variations are just as I have noted, development, gradual progress, and advancement. The lower trigram is gen: bound or mountain. The upper trigram is xun: wind.

   1. Development, The maiden is given in marriage.
        Good fortune brings good fortune.
   2. Perseverance furthers.

B. The Image

  1. On the mountain, a tree.
      a) Now we can see the image of developmental growth.
      b) Thus the superior man abides in dignity and virtue,

in order to improve the mores.

II. My interpretation

A. "Development"

Good day to get out there and exercise, and enjoy the outdoors as it develops into spring. All-day we see progress in our right now evolving environment. We are now moving from the notion of hexagram fifty-three to that of hexagram fifty-four the marriageable maiden. But in this instant, we must quickly marry the young maiden, not so much in the next hexagram 54. We should be cultivating for the next phase when it comes to the hexagram that follows the current one, keynote marriage.

As we progress towards the goal of meeting spring mornings, let us not forget the people who fell out of formation during our yearly flights from the fall to spring again. The flight through the last couple of months of winter has been stop-and-go but we are at this successful point. Now is a good time to lighten the load on our old pack mules. give a little, even if it's money, but giving a little of your time is more crucial. Just showing face brightens the day of a lot of people unaware of the effects of Qi, live it and give it.

I.The Oracle

A. Hexagram 13 is Tong Ren or Concording People. Additional interpretations include Fellowship with Men and Gathering Men. the lower trigram is Li: radiance or fire. The upper trigram is Qian: force or heaven.

B. The Judgment

   1. Fellowship with Men in the open.
       Success.
   2. It furthers one to cross the great water.
The perseverance of the superior man furthers.

C. The Image

  1. Heaven together with fire:
The image of Fellowship with Men.
  2. Thus the superior man organizes the clans
      And makes distinctions between things.

II. My interpretation

A. "Fellowship"

With this hexagram, we see a man who for all apparent reasons joins in fellowship with others who are somewhat not of his kind. He does so because they are within close proximity to his dwelling. If he was to limit his friendship to that of his closes family ties, there would be cause for regret, being that his social adaptions would be somewhat limited in scope. To take it even further, to do so would be as the tale of “The Allegory of the Cave” by Plato, signifies. It is the story of a group of people in a cave, and not knowing what the real world is really all about, like unto an Amazon tribe out in the wildness but on a different scale.

It is the job of the superior man to know what is what and to point this out preferably to the people nearby first. To know more one must extend his or her range of knowledge of prominent current issues, not just homegrown knowledge, not to the tune of, we only use chopsticks.

In this passage, we see a call for universal brotherhood ill regardless of inconsistencies. To serve is to serve. Always extend service to the betterment of all into the one.

I.The Oracle

A. Hexagram 57 is called Xun, or Ground. Additional variations include The Gentle, the Penetration wind and Calculations. Its lower and upper trigrams are identical, being Xun: ground or wind.

B. The Judgment

   1. The Gentle. Success through what is small.
It furthers one to have somewhere to go.
   2. It furthers one to see the great man.

C. The Image

  1. Winds following one upon the other:
      The image of The Firm Penetrates the middle;
      What is willed is fulfilled.
  2. Thus the superior man

      Spreads his commands abroad
And carries out the will of Heaven.

II. My interpretation

A. "The Gentle"

With this hexagram we see a person who is somewhat in doubt as to when he should capture the opportunity to move forward. This is due to the disposition that he or she has, without cause, placed upon themselves.

A cleansing is needed in order to dispel these superimposed malefactors that are really things of that person's distant past. My way of cleansing is to think of the word AUM, and for sure it does more than cleanse. After a somewhat difficult start, all fear, doubt, hesitations, and inner conflicts are resolved.

Although somethings may seem less evil from another standpoint, do not be carried downstream by such rudimentary thinking. If it was evil before this moment it still resolves as evil in a little while. Some good examples would be, and from speaking in terms of my negative forethoughts, and they are, wanting to drink alcohol, eating meat, other than fish, wanting to eat sweets or sugary items, and as well as indulging with people I should not approach.

We must take care not let the evil of our past life re-emerge due to us being less concerned about, or the carelessness of small idiosyncrasies of the present. Stay the course.

In other words, know what’s what, in terms of right and wrong, stay committed to your corrected course.

Ritsema/Karcher: Ground, the small: Growing. Harvesting: possessing directed going. Harvesting: visualizing Great People. [This hexagram describes your situation in terms of providing an underlying support. It emphasizes that subtly penetrating and nourishing things from below, the action of Ground, is the adequate way to handle it. To be in accord with the time, you are told to enter the situation from below!]

Hexagram 32

By: James Byrd

I.The Oracle

A. Hexagram 32 is Heng, or Preserving. Further variations are Duration and Constancy. The lower trigram is Xun: ground or wind, and the upper trigram is Zhen: shake or thunder.

B. The Judgment

   1. Duration. Success. No blame.
       Perseverance furthers.
   2. It furthers one to have somewhere to go.

C. The Image

  1. Thunder and wind: the image of duration.
  2. Thus the superior man stands firm

And does not change his direction.

II. My interpretation

A. "Constancy"

The key idea with this hexagram is staying our original goal, which is, maintaining a dogma so to speak, from start to everlasting. Staying the course will, just as an attack on a city, not mean that that municipality must for the sake of damage, misalign its original aim.

A good sign of constancy is the sun rising every day. I remember once here recently I awake at 9: pm at night and I was thinking it was about 9:00 am. I went out for the morning walk and witness people queuing to go into the night clubs. I kept thinking secretly when was the sun coming up?  Be consistent as the rising sun.

From the start, there must be some type of small steps towards the desired goal – such as with my college motto which states, one has to “Start To Finish”, but not only that, in between the start and finish clause there must consistency to the tune of maintaining one’s integrity throughout the extent of steps taken towards a favorable goal. Another example would be the movement of a football from one end zone to the other without breaking the rules of the game.

Holding on to the past as we move forward is like a court stenographer in a modern courtroom, which is no longer needed due to the modern age of video cameras from all angles. But having live feeds of all activity within a courthouse could cause somewhat of a problem, because we would be overcorrecting our true intensions.

One must maintain his or her modus operand throughout the process scaling towards their well-established outcomes.
