Good Morning ~ Quote
“A man traveling across a field encountered a tiger. He fled, the tiger after him. Coming to a precipice, he caught hold of the root of a wild vine and swung himself down over the edge. The tiger sniffed at him from above. Trembling, the man looked down to where, far below, another tiger was waiting to eat him. Only the vine sustained him.
Two mice, one white and one black, little by little started to gnaw away the vine. The man saw a luscious strawberry near him. Grasping the vine with one hand, he plucked the strawberry with the other. How sweet it tasted! ”

Meat: From Field to Consumption
Meat: From Field to Consumption
The federal government has from time-to-time tried to intervene within the meat processing industry with such campaigns as “Eat less red and processed meats,” as pronounced by the federal Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC). I understand it’s like candy but the whole truth about the road of meat from birth to consumption can be short and cheap, or it can be long and beneficial for human consumption. It’s not like when my Mother use-to go out and grab a chicken out the chicken coop and chop its head off. With those chickens we knew what was fed to the chickens because that was my job, feeding the chickens. Their food consisted of regular crackled-up corn feed. Nowadays that claim is doubtful with any type of meat consumptions which has a gigantic array of additives to enhance the shelf-life and maybe the taste of that particular meat.
The start of the process begins with farmers who believe that they are doing the right thing by producing and grazing millions of farm animals which in turn has a devastating impact on both the water supply and quality of air. Now next these same open-range animals are then moved on downline to the inhumane factory farms or feedlots. At that point they are fed; antibiotics genetically engineered grain and the most ill-reversible fate of all, artificial hormones. The last byproduct of factory meats is very important because it affects the sexual orientation of young people. Do you need that?
Also, there are psychological ramifications to expect with the consumption of confined animal’s hormones (CAFO), that is, you become what you eat, by eating caged stressed animals, and you will in turn become stressed, the waterfall effect. So there you have it, the meat in most cases starts out ok, except for the environmental detriments, and is somewhat contaminated as it makes its way to your plate, and we are talking about 95 percent of beef and a large percentage of other meats still come from feedlots and factory farms.
Trust me, once you stick to vegan and try going back to eating meat once again, you will almost immediately sense the taste of death.

Good Morning H-59
"This hexagram describes your situation in terms of confronting obstacles, illusions and misunderstandings. It emphasizes that clearing away what is blocking the light is an adequate way to handle it. To be in accord with time, you are told to: disperse what obstructs awareness!"

Return to Oneness
Interested in reading New Age books about holistic healing, the Tao, Qigong, and other related topics? Then, the second book in the series by Ricardo B. Serrano, R. Ac., Return to Oneness with the Tao, is just the book for you! In it, the talented and always informative author covers many topics that, when combined, will aid YOU in healing yourselves emotionally and physically, and in your personal spiritual awakening. The insightful commentaries and quotes from the Tao are worth the price of the book in themselves, but you will also learn Taoist meditation and Qigong inner alchemy techniques like lower dantien breathing, Microcosmic Orbit Qigong, primordial Wu Ji Qigong, meditation on twin hearts, and Tibetan Shamanic Qigong (relax; it’s all explained in the book).
Why are these topics important to learn about? Knowing these things will help you to cultivate the Three Treasures Jing, Qi, and Shen, which Serrano also discusses and defines in the first book of the series (reviewed elsewhere here), Meditation & Qigong Mastery. Among other factors for personal transformation and healing, the book mentions that two most powerful factors are “awareness and intention.”
Many of our emotional and physical problems are caused, the book asserts, by a blocking of our life force, or Qi. We must learn what the emotional root cause of the blockage is before we then intentionaly release it through meditation and Qigong. It’s vital to do this, in order to effect a “process of change for personal transformation and healing.”
What is Wuji Qigong? According to the book, it’s “Tai Chi for enlightenment.” Practicing it allows you “to reconnect with the Taoist immortals. It also “activates one’s lightbody (Merkaba), opens one’s heart to unconditional love and heals holographically. In the section of Serrano’s book that discusses this, we also learn the importance of the number twelve in Taoist numerology, Sacred Geometry, and the Chinese calendar. As the author notes, twelve is “related to the 12 meridians in your body, and the 12 hour ‘chi clock’ of their flow cycle.”
I can’t cover every topic the book discusses, but I really liked reading the translated quotes from the Tao Te Ching (The Classic Way). Just thinking about some of them can lead to moments of enlightenment, like Koan riddles. One example is:
Since Being and non-being give birth to each other,
Difficulty and ease complete each other,
Long and short measure each other,
High and low overflow into each other,
Voice and sound harmonize with each other,
And before and after follow each other.
“Return to Oneness with the Tao” by Ricardo B. Serrano, R.Ac. is a worthy addition to the series. We, as humans, attain knowledge and enlightenment in a series of steps, much like steps (or series of books) Serrano has written. This is a book that you’ll want to add to your personal libraries if you read and enjoyed the first book, and it can be enjoyed as a stand-alone book. Once you read it, you’ll want to get the entire series.
